Star Wars Land & Cars Land Coming to WDW

I learned from the Theme Park Insider that Cars Land and Star Wars Land are coming to Walt Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  I am excited about this news, even though I have a few concerns. Here are my pros and cons I see regarding this change.

Star Wars Land & Cars Land Coming to WDW

  • Hollywood Studios was made so we can see the magic behind the movies. At one time movies were even made on the property. It seems like this move is putting more emphasis on the product rather the movie making process. I enjoyed Lights, Motors, Action auto stunt show and the back lot tour. I will be sad to see that go. I do love the Cars movies, but I think getting rid of the “history” so to speak may change the overall tone of the park. Hopefully, they will still make it a little bit of a behind the scenes type of attraction.
  • Is the Cars Land going to be a replica of the Disney Land version. I hope they change it up a little. I like that a lot of the things are different at each park. Though I have never been to Disney Land, I would love to go.  If WDW is the same pretty much attraction wise as Disney Land, then what is my incentive to go to DL other than seeing Aurora’s Castle instead of Cinderella’s?
  • I am super excited about Star Wars land. Since acquiring Lucas Films I have wondered how Disney would expand their Star Wars footstep.  They do an awesome Star Wars weekend. I hope this means we can get pictures of Minnie Leia and Darth Goofy all year round. The holocron leaves the space wide open to all sorts of ideas.

So, what are you looking forward to and do you have any concerns/dislikes about this future development?

I wish we were close enough to the States to be able to take the kids to DL or WDW…that would be fun. I think they’d love it!

I would love to go to DL Paris, DL Cali, and Aulani, and a Disney cruise. Disney is everywhere now! It is pretty amazing the company Walt built. I try in so many ways to bring Disney magic home through Disney dates and family nights, since I can’t afford Disney more than once a year or so.
