Tampa Bay just got a new fun and tasty dining experience, Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen! Tibby’s opened up their Brandon, Florida location September 29th, 2016. I was very excited to try them out. I was going to go with my husband, but he had to work. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law came with me instead; Tibby’s makes the perfect girl’s night out night. Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen has fun decor, great food, and tasty drinks. Grab your girls and have a fun night out at Tibby’s!
Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen takes you right to New Orleans with their decor. It is colorful, bright, and shiny! I have never been to New Orleans, but it is just like I would imagine it to be. I loved all the artwork and decor pieces!
Looks like a fun place, right? You can book a party at Tibbys! Click here to find out more information!
Yes, it is a cool place to see, but is the food good you may be asking. YES, the food is amazing! I had Rita’s Pork Tenderloin Cutlets. The pork tenderloin cutlets are panko crusted, topped with house lemon butter sauce, and served over dirty rice. You can substitute chicken for pork in this dish! The pork had a slight spicy kick and the rice was full of flavor. I enjoyed it so much!
“Who-Dat” Cajun Blackened Chicken is what my mother-in-law chose. Menu Description: Roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, Cajun seasoning & our house lemon butter sauce served over homemade Boudin grit cakes & topped with blackened chicken. She had wanted something with a little spice, but not too much and she said her dish was perfect. Her favorite part of the dish was the Boudin grit cakes. I had a taste of those too and was in love, so tasty!
My sister-in-law had a tasty Po’ Boy Chicken Sandwich. She loved the sweet potato fries! She also added some special instructions, like mayo on the side and they made her order to her exact instructions. That is always good to know. I can be rather picky at times and love when restaurants do their best to accommodate diners. On another note, Tibby’s offers gluten free pasta.
Let’s talk drinks! Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen has a full bar and quite a few specialty drinks. I had a Brandy Milk Punch which Brennan’s restaurant takes credit for perfecting this traditional sweet mid-day libation. Brandy, Irish cream, vanilla & cream, shaken. Topped with nutmeg & served over crushed ice. This drink was so creamy and sweet, but the brandy evens that out bit. I loved it!
My mother-in-law had a Hurricane which is a local favorite created at Pat O’Brien’s bar – one of the greatest foundations of French Quarter libations. Bacardi Silver, triple sec & Bacardi 151 mixed with house-made Hurricane mix. Topped with a floater of Bacardi Black Rum. This drink was a lighter than mine and tasted like punch.
Don’t forget about dessert! One of my favorite things dessert at Disney is the Beignets at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. Tibby’s are even better, especially since they are paired with a bourbon sauce! So sweet though, they come 3 to an order and I could only have 2. Yes, those beignets are sitting on top of mounds of powdered sugar!
The fun food and atmosphere make Tibby’s New Orleans Kitchen a great girl’s night out, but it would also be great for a family dinner. Please check out Tibby’s for yourself and see how good it is!
